Today, November 14, 2025, the UL took a monumental step towards academic and technological advancement by formally signing two crucial Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore. This landmark ceremony was held at the Vice Chancellor’s Office, UET Lahore.
Key Memorandums of Understanding:
* Primary Academic and Research Collaboration (UL and UET):
This primary MoU was signed by the Vice Chancellor UL, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zubair Abu Bakar and the Vice Chancellor UET, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir (TI). This agreement aims to elevate educational standards through joint academic and research projects, faculty/student exchange programs, digital collaboration, and capacity building initiatives.
* Specialized MoU for Technology and LMS Deployment (UL and KICS-UET):
The second, highly significant MoU was signed between the Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS), UET, and the UL. Under this agreement, UET’s cutting-edge Learning Management System (Campus Solution 360) will be deployed at the UL.
* Signatories: Dr-Zeshan Khokhar, Incharge IT at UL, and Mr. Ali Muzaffar from KICS-UET, formalized this specialized collaboration. Mr. Mudassir was also present there alongwith team members of KICS-UET.
* Impact: This deployment is a game-changer for UL. It not only modernizes our academic process starting from student admissions untill award of degree, including administrative and financial management but, crucially, connects the UL to one of Higher Education Commission, Pakistan’s main Data Centres (The Gold Mine). This marks a massive leap forward for UL’s IT infrastructure and provides a robust foundation for our digital future.
The Vice Chancellor UL, Prof. Dr. Zubair Abubakar, hailed this collaboration as the beginning of a new digital era for UL students and faculty.
